Everyone knows that they can get the best deal from companies that are desperate for new customers. The rapid growth of the webhosting market has forced even established businesses to borrow thousands or millions of dollars so they can build giant new server farms with enough capacity to handle demand.

But if they don’t find enough customers to fill their shinny new servers by the time the mortgage bill comes due, these companies will soon be bankrupt. Their assets and customer accounts will be sold to one of the companies that can pay their bills on time—similar to how GoDaddy bought bankrupt RegisterFly several years ago.So, for you deal hunters, here’s a list of five top WordPress hosting companies fighting for your business:

#1—GoDaddy WordPress Hosting

GoDaddy should be listed first on any top-five list because they are clearly the top domain name provider by the number of domains and customers.

It isn’t clear whether or not they’re the top WordPress website provider—but they certainly give other companies a run for their money.

GoDaddy’s chief advantages over other companies are their low prices and huge marketing budget. (Surely you’ve seen their racy advertisements.) The low prices come from GoDaddy’s investment in huge modern data centers.

The large data centers don’t just keep your price down, they also help ensure that you have room to grow. GoDaddy’s plans start at $3.74 a month (with a 36-month contract), which is the lowest price for WordPress website hosting on this list.

But low price doesn’t mean low service. Your WordPress website plan includes all of the following key features:

One-click installation of WordPress and other great software

10 gigabytes of free storage—enough to host 400,000 typical blogs, 10 million comments, or 10,000 medium-resolution images

Unlimited bandwidth, so you don’t have to worry about extra charges if your blog makes it to the front page of Digg or Reddit

Several hundred free WordPress website plugins ready for immediate installation so your blog can truly be your blog

Of course they have gathered their fare share of bad publicity but overall, considering how much of the market they control, this is probably not a bad ratio. I personally have used this company and no longer do.

#2—HostGator: Another Affordable WordPress Website Host

HostGator WordPress websites start at just $3.96 a month—that’s only 22 cents more a month than GoDaddy. What do you get for an extra $2.64 a year? The usual price is $4.95 but they always have a sale on. But even cheaper with my coupon code MITZSave25 and my free WordPress installation offer.

For starters, you get an $100 Google AdWords credit to help promote your new WordPress website. Although I prefer to grow WordPress websites with strong content and SEO, it sure is fun watching the traffic roll in from a successful AdWords campaign.

Your also get a 45-day money-back guarantee from HostGator. If you aren’t entirely happy with their service, they’ll give you a free refund. That can be quite a valuable guarantee if you sign up for a 36-month contract and discover, one week in, that your don’t like HostGator. (Not that you would though as they rock!)

You also get unlimited bandwidth and disk storage. There’s no 10 gigabyte limit to trip you up just as your blog is becoming successful.

Finally, for your extra 22 cents a month, you won’t have to deal with the number one compliant I hear about GoDaddy—people who don’t like their advertisements.

I recently wrote an article about 5 horrible web hosting failures (on Comluv.com) and the amount of people who commented about how happy they were with Hostgator was amazing. It really shows they have great customer service.

#3—Is WordPress.com A WordPress Website Host?

If you’re already using WordPress.com, or you’re just getting started building Websites, you may want to check out WordPress.com’s paid features.

For as little as $12 a year ($1 a month), they’ll host your website using a custom domain, so your WordPress website will appear to be self-hosted. The nice thing about your own custom domain is that your can always move it to another WordPress website hosting company latter without losing any of your regular readers or referral links.

For another $30 a year, WordPress will remove all of their advertisements from your site, making it look more professional. However, if you can stand the advertisements, not paying this fee is a great way to save money.

For a separate $30 a year, you can add your own custom design. Again, this is a great fee to avoid if you don’t mind the default layouts. Since most of the default layouts let you include your own advertisements, there’s really no financial reason to change your layout.

The one fee you probably will end up paying is the extra storage fee which goes from $20 a year to $300 a year.

If you combine the domain name fee with the cheapest storage fee, WordPress.com offers WordPress website hosting for less than $3 a month—cheaper than any other plan on this list. But if you need to add any other options, you’re best off moving to a dedicated WordPress website host.

#4—BlueHost: More Expensive, More Options

Starting at $5.95 a month, BlueHost’s plans cost almost two dollars more than HostGator. That’s an extra $24 out of your pocket every year.

But you also save money right off the bat—BlueHost will pay for your first domain name. That instantly saves you $7–15 in your first year. Plus you get a $75 dollar Google AdWords credit to help promote your new site.

BlueHost also offers features you don’t get (or have to pay extra for) on GoDaddy, HostGator, or WordPress.com. One feature is a complete shopping cart solution. If you’re planning on selling eBooks or other digital or physical merchandise, an integrated shopping cart can keep customers on your site and increase your profits.

Also unlike the other three providers listed earlier, BlueHost offers you unlimited everything. There’s no disk space limitation like on GoDaddy, or domain limitation or surcharge like on HostGator and WordPress.com. From the moment you start your one-click installation of WordPress on BlueHost, it’s smooth sailing. (or so they say)

#5—DreamHost: The Geeks Dreamland WordPress Website Host

DreamHost is by far the most expensive WordPress website hosting company fighting for your business. At $8.95 a month, they’re more than twice as expensive as GoDaddy or Hostgator, and there are no discounts to offset this high price. So why am I listing them here?

Simple: DreamHost is legendary for making customers happy. Their customer service is reputed to be the best in the business, and they give their customers full shell access to their websites so customers can build their own custom solutions.

Furthermore, DreamHost is known for anticipating their customers’ needs. Did your WordPress website hit the front page of Reddit today? DreamHost will move your website to a dedicated server for free until traffic dies down—and they’ll do it all while you sleep, blissfully unaware of the 10,000 people a minute now reading your blog. You don’t even need to submit a support ticket.

DreamHost includes all the features you’ve come to expect from a dedicated WordPress website host, so even if they cost twice what other hosts cost, you don’t have to be worried about being shortchanged.

I am definitely not a tax professional and you can take my suggestions with a grain of salt, but to confirm if these are really legitimate tax deductions for bloggers in your country, make sure you ask your accountant.

I have operated many businesses over the years, in fact I have never worked for anyone, but bloggers making money online is a completely different story. The potential tax deductions are often overlooked as bloggers are busy people, no doubt. Bloggers are simply sitting in their home office making money, sticking to their daily blogging routine, not realizing the legitimate tax deductions that they could be claiming.

I live in Australia and have just had my tax done by my accountant. I just thought I would share some of the tax deductions that I have used in the past. (This might not apply to you in your country)

#1. Rent for Business Premises – Tax Deductions for Bloggers

Ahh this sounds scary but it is not. Bloggers making money online have got the cheapest rent in the world. I have mentioned before that I used to pay in between $10,000 and $11,000 a month to rent a shop premises near Brisbane. Now I am earning just as much money from blogging but I do not have the stress of working seven days a week and employing 15 people. (OMG that was a nightmare!)

Now I rent my Internet premises from Hostgator for around $10 a month, allowing me to open approximately 15 businesses, just with that one small fee. I also have other hosting accounts with Hostgator with more businesses (WordPress websites) on them.

Even though the renting fees are tiny compared to the income that they produce, the fees are still tax-deductible.

#2. Domain Name Renewal

It costs me around $10 a year to renew each domain name that I own. I do have a decent collection but I have made my money back on these domain names over and over. For example I bought a domain name that a local business wanted. They offered me $400 for the name, when I only paid $10. This kind of sale will pay for registering some of the other domain names that I have. If not they are all still tax-deductible because that’s what business I am in.

#3. Tools of the Trade

Every business needs the tools of the trade to operate and obviously they are clear tax deductions for bloggers. Although in the beginning I only bought Web hosting and domain name. This was the cheapest business I have ever entered into! However as I progressed I realized that I could not possibly do my work without certain tools of the trade.

These blogging business tools include:

Various Premium WordPress themes ($$$ all well worth the money)

UAW (Unique article Wizard) as of Dec 2011 ($67 a month)

SEOpressor ($97 one off)

Scribe by Copyblogger ($27 a month)

Both Aweber and Mailchimp (Approx $100 a month combined)

WP Subscribers ($47 one off)

Premium Commentluv ($87 one off)

EasyAzon by Chris Gutherie ($47 one off)

Therefore I have one-off payments which are one-off tax deductions, and I have continued recurring payments that will also be deducted. Either way I am happy to buy tools when they are tax deductions for bloggers anyway. I just love all the goodies I buy and I cannot believe they are for business use!

#4. Conference Expenses

I do attend the odd conference here and there and because I live over an hour away from Brisbane, I usually need to travel there, buy accommodation, eat out, and so on. Luckily these kinds of things are tax deductions for bloggers as it can be a very expensive exercise.

Of course I also treat this kind of thing as a holiday as well. I might as well make the most of it! I often go to the gold coast (because that’s where most of the conferences are), attend the conference and work from one of the high rises over looking the beautiful beaches in my down time.

#5. Travel Expenses

Yes I do leave my home for my job sometimes…But rarely of course as I hate getting out of my pajamas. As I stated above, I might travel to a conference, I might go shopping for a product to review, or maybe even to buy more computer equipment for my business. I have blogs about computers and gadgets and need to keep up with the latest stuff. It is my job to know how to use these things. Now you know why this is my dream job as all my favorite goodies are tax deductions for bloggers. OMG how lucky am I?

I try not to be a hermit, because in this business bloggers making money online can often be shut off from the world. I can also go to various cafes to work and review their food for one of my websites.

#6. Products to Review

I get a lot of products, software, plugins and stuff for free (these are counted as income in some countries). But sometimes I need other products that I would like to have myself and would also like to review on one my websites. For example I went out shopping for Android tablets and came home with nothing, but I did write a review about it. I definitely tried to buy a tablet, but none were available for me.

If I had purchased the android tablet, that would be tax deductible either for use in my business or because I might have written a review on it. Therefore there were two ways to make this a tax deduction.

I can also claim the travel expenses that I payed for to seek out the information for this review.

If you want to claim something like this, make sure you have the proof to back it up. If you had purchased the android tablet then you need to keep the receipt, the petrol receipts, and so on.

So if I have a website about Wii games and I go and buy a Wii game to review for the website, this is an expense for the business. It does not matter if that website makes money or not, the game is used for the business. I do not purchase items for blogs that do not make money though, as this would be a bad business decision, but it is just an example. As I have stated, you will need to talk to your accountant to see what the real tax deductions are for you.

#7. Home Office

Ok you can get technical and work out the percentage your home office takes up in your house. Then you can claim that amount the expenses of your house. This can be different in other countries. I can claim around 10% for my home office. You will have to ask your accountant what you can claim.

This means I can claim rent or mortgage payments, electricity, and so on.

#8. Internet, Phone and Electricity

Of course this can be claimed under the home office section but I also have extras to claim. I have a dedicated business mobile phone, and a mobile Internet connection for using when I matter the house. I paid $39 to access the internet in a hotel room once so now I have my own USB dongle. (ripped off) Obviously I had to pay that, another one of those tax deductions for bloggers, but I was not happy about that one! The mobile internet and the mobile phone are needed to make my business mobile.

So these two items are completely tax deductible, while the electricity is partly tax-deductible, and my home phone is only partly tax-deductible.

If you use 50% of your home internet usage for your business then you can claim 50% back on tax.

#9. Paypal and Bank Fees

I cashed an Amazon cheque the other day and it cost me close to $50. The cheque was for about $1000 but by the time I had it converted from US dollars to Australian dollars and also paid fee to deposit the cheque, the actual bank fees came to $50. That is one thing that sucks about being an Amazon on affiliate in Australia. I do not know why they cannot pay into my bank account like everyone else, or even PayPal.

Anyway I also have PayPal fees each time I receive money for things like an e-book sale or maybe some other affiliate payment. All of these fees add up dramatically and I was seriously shocked when I saw my total.

#10. Outsourcing Fees

I am not directly employing people but buying goods from them. If I was to employ someone in Australia, I would need to have workers compensation (min $250 a year), superannuation (if you pay over $450 a month), and whole lot of other fees!

Therefore I buy articles, I pay someone to service a blog, or maybe I get a plugin built. I am not directly employing anyone. I do not pay people by the hour, I pay for goods and services and therefore these are tax deductions for bloggers.

My money I earn on the Internet is shared all over the world. I buy stuff from USA, China, Philippines, India, and many more countries.

This is basically stock to fill my shop. LOL

Here are some of the places I use to get content:

Elance.com

Odesk.com

iWriter.com

Myblogguest.com

Quick Tax Deductions for Bloggers List:

All hosting fees and domain names charges.

Advertising, Sponsored advertising, or paid site submissions fees.

Business branding fees such as Logo design, business cards, promotional items etc.

Internet access at home and on the go.

Partial home phone if used for business and all dedicated business phones.

Software on your computer as this is a computer based business.

Computers and gadgets needed to run your business. (Cameras, USB sticks, Laptops, Tablets, Storage devices, etc)

Fees for stock images, music, or video added to your blog.

Outsourcing, SEO, Blog services. A social media marketer.

Products to review and prizes for giveaways and contests.

Business education. Anything that is aimed at improving your business. Ebooks, Magazines, paid Newsletters.

A business coach. One on one help from a mentor.

When bloggers that make money online do a tax return, the best advice I could give you is to use a qualified tax professional. Blogging is a new business and the rules about what is tax deductible is very unclear in most countries. I have written this article so you can get an idea of what can be claimed but it is up to you to find out if these are legitimate tax deductions for bloggers in your country.

I am faced with many people e-mailing me every day, wanting to know how to export an existing website and import it into WordPress. I know how they feel as I did this with many of my websites a few years ago. It was absolute hell with some websites, and others were really easy. It all depended on where the websites were coming from, and how they were set up in the first place.

This is definitely not about moving your website into a free WordPress blog, it is about how to export an existing website or blog onto your own Web hosting and using WordPress, the free content management system to run your website.

In this tutorial I am going to give you a few tips and share my experience on how to export an existing website and import it into WordPress.

Firstly I’m going to mention why people want to move their websites into WordPress.

Why export an existing website and import it into WordPress?

Getting your own hosting means that you are in control of your own website. Free Web hosting just absolutely sucks!

Google loves WordPress websites, even more than their own Google blogger blogs. (Yes I have moved Blogger blogs to WordPress!)

WordPress is very easy and can do things that make you look very professional.

WordPress has millions of WordPress plug-ins that will perform functions for you and save you a lot of time.

WordPress has millions of WordPress themes to choose from. This means you can make an e-commerce store, real estate agents website, the directory website, photography website, and the list goes on.

Using other content management systems gives you a distinct disadvantage.

I am not the only WordPress freak. The are millions of people that will tell you WordPress is the one and only.

What do I need to export an existing website and import it into WordPress?

You will need Web hosting that is compatible with WordPress. The best Web hosting that I recommend is Hostgator, as it has 24/7 online chat support. One of my friends even logged in to the online chat support before buying their hosting. I cannot tell you how fantastic it is to get instant chat support! If you already have Web hosting, you need to make sure that it is using a Linux operating system and has free WordPress installation available.

You will need to either create an export file or backup your HTML files from your HTML website. You would also have to have a copy of your images.

If you exported your blog by using an export file, then the images are usually imported into WordPress automatically.

You will need to change the name servers of your existing website to point to your WordPress installation, or buy a new domain name for the occasion.

Can I keep my website page rank when I move into WordPress?

Yes and No. You can definitely keep your page rank for your main domain name or homepage. You can also possibly keep the page rank for your actual pages that you have created. However when it comes to your posts, it will depend on how you have structured your URLs.

In most cases the exact structure of the URLs can be recreated by adjusting the permalink structure

What happens when you export blogger blog and import it into WordPress?

Many people want to know how to export blogger to WordPress. You would not believe how many people are doing this. It seems that people start a blog on blogger because it is free, then later get serious about it, and import it into WordPress. This is the trend. you are probably wondering why people would want to move from blogger to WordPress? The answer is simple, the blogs and websites that you make with WordPress do so much better than all of the other platforms. I have had both a blogger blog and HTML website and imported both of these into WordPress. The performance of these websites was amazing after putting them into WordPress, it’s like I breathed life into them.

Examine the URLs of your posts that you have on your existing blog. What is the permalink structure? Here is an example of one from my blog http://www.101pctips.com/2011/08/installing-social-media-icons-on-your.html

Examine the URLs of your pages that you have on your existing blog or website.

Recreate the Permalink if possible.

Note that the tags used in Blogger will become the categories in WordPress.

How to import a website into WordPress?

Now that you have your export file, you can easily import this into your new WordPress installation. You might want to import a WordPress website into another WordPress on a different server, or you might want to import a blog from blogger.com into WordPress. Either way we need to go to the tools menu in your dashboard of your new WordPress installation. Then you need to click on import.

WordPress gives you a number of options. If you want to import a blogger blog then press on that option. If you want to import a WordPress blog then press on that option.

What happens when you import a HTML website into WordPress?

Ouch! Hopefully we are not talking about 1000 page HTML website like I had to do. unfortunately there is no magic wand to convert your HTML website into WordPress. The best and most reliable way is to transfer each post individually. Of course you will need to take note of the URLs once again, but on a hand made HTML website, there is no pushbutton export to use.

If you have a small business website with the main pages, such as services, site map, products, and so on, this can be an easy process. All you would have to do is install WordPress and create these pages. You would also have to do change the permalink structure to suit what your HTML website had.

For example if you had a page in your old website that was called http: //yourdomain.com/about.html then you would create a post called about and change the permalink structure for the whole WordPress website to /%postname%.html which would replicate that url exactly. The reason I did not make a page is because the html was on the end and WordPress will not add the extension to a page.

When I moved my HTML website to WordPress, I went ahead and created pages instead of posts and then redirected the old URL to the new URL. After a while I took the redirects off as Google realized that the page was the new version.

I had every individual article placed in to my new WordPress website by hand. At the same time a category was created to replicate where the post resided on the old HTML website. For example I had a folder called articles. An old URL to an article would look like this: http: //yourdomain.com/articles/post-title.htm and therefore my permalinks had to become /%category%/%postname%.htm.

Lets see how to manipulate the permalink structure in WordPress

This is one of the most important aspects of exporting an existing website and importing it into WordPress. You want the URLs of the old website to look the same as the new ones in WordPress. The permalink is the URL Structure.

I learned about this a few years ago when I tried to import a handmade HTML website into WordPress. My URL’s were not easy to reproduce. All circumstances are different and I will do is give you a few tips that may help. First we need to know where to change the permalinks.

1. Go to your WordPress dashboard.

2. Click on the settings menu in the left column.

3. Choose Permalinks from the menu that appears.

4. The Permalink settings will appear, and this is where you change them.

Now there are many options for Permalink settings and I am just going to list a few examples.

/%post_id%-%postname%/

http://www.yourdomain.com/123-the-post-title/

/blog/%postname%/

http://www.yourdomain.com/blog/the-post-title/

/%postname%/ (This is the one I use)

http://www.yourdomain.com/the-post-title/

/%category%/%postname%/

http://www.yourdomain.com/category/the-post-title/

/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

http://www.yourdomain.com/2011/12/the-post-title/

/%category%/%postname.html (Adds .html to the end of the url)

http://www.yourdomain.com/category/the-post-title.html

/%postname%.htm (Adds .htm to the end of the url)

http://www.yourdomain.com/the-post-title.htm

If you set the Permalink structure right, you will end up the same URLs you had on your other website. For example here is a post URL from a blogger blog http://www.101pctips.com/2011/11/how-to-build-website-for-non-technical.html. To recreate this URL in WordPress I would use this permalink: /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%.html

Get someone else to do all the work for you?

I was browsing my favorite hosting website, Hostgator, and I stumbled across an offer they are making. If you are bringing your website from another hosting company to theirs, they will transfer your website free. For example if you buy the basic shared hosting you will be eligible to get one website transferred either manually or automatic. If you buy reseller hosting, Hostgator will transfer up to 30 websites for you. If you are worried about moving into WordPress and moving your website safely, you should definitely visit the Hostgator website and enter into a Live chat session with a Hostgator employee. The link for live chat is at the bottom of the Hostgator website under the help and support menu.

Clone your WordPress website

Yep we are into cloning. We started cloning our computer operating systems and setups, and now we are cloning entire websites. Of course we need a tool for this as it is beyond the average webmaster to get that technical. The tool I use is WP Twin. This is an amazing tiny script that clones your WordPress website exactly, with all settings, users, plugins, comments, posts, absolutely everything!

I do not just use this tool for backups though, I also use this for reproducing websites on any server I like. For example, I use Thesis, so I setup a typical foundation for a website. I install all the plugins I like, configure them, configure and tweak thesis, and made an overall basis for a website that I like. Then I cloned it with WP Twin. Now when I make a website using Thesis I simply install the clone. This totally adapts everything to the new domain name so it is a stand alone website. I also cloned every other theme I own, even sales page themes. This is amazing for me and is saving me loads of time! If you are a web developer you cannot do without tool like this.

Notes on how to export an existing website:

When you use /% category%/ in your permalink structure you must be aware that if a post belongs to two categories then the one with a top category ID will be selected as the category name.

I like to avoid using dates in my permalinks because it shows a posts age. This is not only when I export an existing website, I use this on all new websites too!

Image credit. Grabbed this PSD file and edited it in Photoshop. Absolutely nothing to do with how to export an existing website.

WordPress is highly customizable and it is at made it easy to export an existing website and import it into WordPress.

I know many people who visit this website either struggle to build WordPress websites or simply cannot make any money from this venture. There are many models you can follow when building a WordPress website, and for that matter you don’t even have to use WordPress if you don’t want to. (you must be crazy though )

You can build a WordPress website into a authority website, an e-commerce website, or even a niche website. Of course there are many more options. Either way, each website can become its own little business, earning you a decent amount of income.

So lets get down to it

If you know anything about me, I generally build authority websites that can go on for ever and ever. Sometimes this means that I pick a more general niche with probably huge competition, divide that niche by categories, and load the website with tons of content. (only great content though) I go for longtail, short tail, highly competitive keywords.

So this is how I make money online, but this is not all there is to my business. I also have many niche websites, review websites, product only websites, and so on.

Today I am going to openly show you a website that I created (or maybe my VA did) about six months ago. I am going to tell you the exact steps I took in making this website and how it has progressed so far.

I have to confess right now that this website is definitely not up to my standard OCD set up as I simply do not have time to fix it at the moment. However the reason I want to show everyone this website is because it is actually making money and it is nowhere near perfect. I want you to see all the good and all the bad and realize that you can do this too.

Here is the website: http://wordpresswebsitehost.com/ Don’t leave though! Take a quick look, see how ugly it is, and then come back!

Why did I start this website?

I was basically building a website to keep my VA busy and I had an idea about making a website that sold Web hosting. If you have never sold Web hosting before, it is one of the most highly paid affiliate products out there. For example if someone clicks on my Hostgator banner and buys even the smallest product, I get $100 commission for bringing them in the door. Not every website can just simply start selling Web hosting though. Trust me I have tried to sell it on some of my authority websites, but the audience needs to be targeted, so that never worked.

How did I start this WordPress website

I searched for a domain name that had something to do with hosting. In my case I wanted to tie it in with my WordPress website group. When I started to research Web hosting, I realized that it was highly competitive niche and therefore I did not research keywords at all. I was not going to rely on search engine optimization to get me traffic in the beginning.

I created a WordPress theme using Artisteer as I probably was not a member of Elegant themes at the time.. ( I will be changing the Theme later)

I created a page for each hosting company that I wanted to promote. Please note that these are pages, not posts.

I created a static front page with a table full of affiliate links and a link to see a full review of the product.

I have researched some keywords to narrow down what categories I wanted for the articles.

I installed a minimal amount of plug-ins, just enough to get me through. For example I installed Affiliatecamo to cloak affiliate links and get every article pointing back to a review page.

I got 10 articles written about Web hosting and scheduled them to post one every four days.

I relied on my VA at the time, to fill the product pages with reviews and affiliate links.

I put a backlink on one of my PR 6 websites and possibly 2 others. That’s it for linkbuilding.

After all this I spent a few days editing mistakes and content, but never finishing to my standards. When you visit this website I do not expect criticism as I am showing this website in good faith. Of course it can be done better and it will be in time. I am totally open to suggestions though!

Potential Greatness Kept Knocking?

Unfortunately I lost interest after about a week and was often reminded that this website existed by seeing the odd $100 commission coming in. Believe it or not, this is exactly how this website started as well. I often say that I build websites and wait for the website to show me potential. This website you are reading right now, did exactly the same thing. It showed me potential.

The funny thing is that I still ignored the potential in this hosting website as I was just too busy, but then Google had a good old page rank update. I was awarded with a page rank 4 on this hosting website that I had left for dead. So there was another sign slapping me in the face.

Wake up Mitz!

Ok the PR 4 woke me up about the website. This led me to a little bit more promotion, and when I say little, I mean little. I added a link to the website in an article I wrote on my Tips4PC website and also answered a few Yahoo answers, of course leaving a link to the website. That’s it though.

Anyway I got paid $200 into my bank and was curious as to where it came from. I logged into my Commission Junction account for this website and noticed a balance of $700, $600 for August and $100 just outside. The $200 I had already been paid for was July earnings for this website which occurred before I had woken up with my second mini line of promotion. I rarely even go to Commission Junction as I really make all my earnings from Adsense, Clickbank, some individual affiliates, and now Amazon. All this was a surprise to me.

What caused this website to be so successful?

It is not successful yet but has the potential to be extremely successful! Obviously we can see that.

So what caused this website to be potentially successful?

Here are a few reasons I have thought of:

The static front page is a complete affiliate table and there is not many other options on the page and less you scroll right down to the bottom of the website.

If a visitor lands on an article on the website, links to the review pages are embedded into the articles. The articles themselves are not interlinked.

The only outgoing links are to hosting affiliate websites and to this WordPress website.

The articles that I have published are all original content. These have started to be picked up by the search engines and are getting a very small amount of traffic.

In the screenshot below I show you the settings I used to set my static front page. The first thing I did was create a page with no sidebars. Then I chose this page in the settings below.

What are my plans for this WordPress website?

I thought about writing some guest posts for this website but have not even got around to it. When that happens that will definitely kick this website onto my earnings radar.

I also thought about making a banner for it and buying some cheap advertising space on other blogs..Lets face it, $100 a sale can afford it.

I will hopefully have time to answer a few more questions on Yahoo.

I could also add a link into my authors bio on the websites that I already guest post on. This means that the link will automatically go want to all the posts that I have already published on other peoples blogs. Can you see the power in this?

Schedule more articles to run and keep the blog flowing with fresh content.

I thought this would be a small niche website, well kind of small, but it could turn out to be something bigger. This was not my intention.

Can you copy this?

Sure! Just remember that the domain name I chose really has no one searching for it. Therefore you can buy a domain name like these:

websitehostingcost.net

websitehostingcost.org

americanwebhosting.org

andwebhosting.net

bestwebhosting2011.net

bestwebhosting2011.org

domainnameandwebhosting.net

domainnameandwebhosting.net

bestwebhostingnow.net

bestwebhostingnow.org

topwebsitehostingtoday.com

topwebsitehostingtoday.net

…that are available right now and then reproduce what I have done… Then start driving targeted traffic to the website. If you do use one of these domain names then please do your own checking to see if there are any searches for it….

Just remember that this is my WordPress website case study and I do not guarantee your success doing the same thing or offer personal help to anyone. Believe me, I know everyone needs help and it is impossible for me to do so. The best way I can help you is if you follow this blog.

WordPress Website Case Study Conclusion

Even if the Page Rank disappears on this website, it is extremely easy to drive some targeted traffic to it and still make sales. The page rank has nothing to do with the success of the website. It does not matter that I placed a link on one of my websites because I could have just as easily guest posted on someone else’s site to get a link.

This is what I call handing you a website example on a platter!

I am interested to hear your comments about this WordPress website Case study??

We all know about free Google tools to use for your WordPress website building business, however are you missing out on some of them? Software for business used to be expensive and now it seems like get anything for free, especially from Google. If you are into building WordPress websites or Internet marketing you will be very familiar with the free Google tools are available to help you in your business. I definitely am a Google lover, but do not hate me for that! Many people despise Google’s success, however I am here to use it.

I cannot possibly mention all of the free Google tools available, therefore I am just going to mention my favorite.

Free Google tools – Website tracking tools

From all the free Google tools available, I seriously love Google’s website tracking tools. The information that is provided for free is absolutely the most valuable gift that Google could give to you. Everything is clearly laid out on a platter, if you take the time to learn how to read this information.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is absolutely amazing! All you have to do is add Google analytics code to your website and the tracking begins. I use it to see what keywords an article is using to bring in traffic. I also like to see if that keyword is generating income by finding the highest paying keywords for AdSense. If I find an article that has a keyword that is doing well, I will go and focus on that keyword and do some search engine optimization on page and off page. Basically you are showed every detail about your website, what keywords are working to you, and what is bringing in the traffic.

Google Webmaster tools

Google Webmaster tools is a great resource to see if there are any errors occurring on your website that might affect the search engines crawling. You want your website to be search engine compliant as you want your information fed to the world.

Things you can see in the Google Webmaster tools:

You can see if you have a site map submitted to Google.

You can see if there are any crawl errors.

You can see keywords that people are using to find your website.

You can see how many inbound links you have to each individual page on your website.

Of course there are many other things that you can see in Google Webmaster tools, however the best way is to go investigate yourself.

Free Google tools – keyword research

Google keyword tool

What can I say about the Google keyword tool? It just keeps improving and I cannot help but use it for my keyword research. Even if I’m not creating a new website, I actually use the Google keyword tool to find the right keywords for each article that I write. This is very valuable information and it is all there for free.

I have used fancy keyword tools such as Keyword Elite and Market Samurai. Unfortunately after using these programs, I have ended up at the Google keyword tool to gain.

Things you can see in the Google keyword tool:

You can see if anyone is searching for the keyword you Want to target?

You can see if that keyword is in a competitive market.

You can see the approximate CPC.

Of of course you can see a whole lot more!

Free Google tools – Content publishing

Blogger.com

If you are just starting your first website, you can actually start a free blog on blogger.com and get some practice in. You can develop a real business on blogger free blog that I actually use it for search engine optimization purposes. I use Blogger to create related content blogs that link back to my main website. I do not need to ask anyone if I can publish a guest post because I have a few blogs that I can get back links from. The search engines love blogger.com so it is a great place to publish content. Here is an example of a blogger blog I have for SEO purposes about Pc Tips.

Youtube.com

I do not like talking about Youtube because I will not stop. I am a big Youtube fan and I have close to 300 videos uploaded to this website. It gives me a great amount of traffic and I guess I have built a business from it. If you are not using Youtube to upload videos and promote your website then I suggest you get on with it!

I have written many articles from finding the right Youtube video title to generating traffic from Youtube. I have also written a number of articles about how people can make a video to upload to Youtube. For example I have an article about making PowerPoint slides into a video.

Google alerts

Google alerts is another tool that I used every day to help me research the content that I want to write. All I have to do is go to Google alerts, enter a keyword in that I am interested in, and Google will send me links to websites that publish articles about the keyword I entered in. For example if I want to write a post about back linking, I would enter this into Google alerts and gather information about back linking. You can also use this to find the latest information about your favorite subject without having to search the Internet for it.

There are many other free Google tools that I would like to mention, such as Google documents, Gmail e-mail, Google insights, Google translator, and so on. The list just goes on forever so I have made a video on how you can go on see more free Google tools.

WordPress has opened up huge possibilities for bloggers and has allowed them to take their blogs to the level of full-fledged websites. A huge selection of WordPress plug-ins, with more being created all the time, makes for endless options in creating custom-designed blogs.

Some readers might be confused about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. Although they may sound nearly the same, they both offered different services, and this can be confusing to newcomers.

The difference is all in the hosting. The free option is a blog hosted on WordPress.com, but the themes and plug-ins that can be used will be limited and you will not be able to include affiliate links or other forms of advertising.

On the other hand, WordPress.org requires you to have your own domain and web hosting but is a much better option for professional bloggers. This is also where WordPress plug-ins come in! Owners of self-hosted blogs can make use of the full range of available WordPress plug-ins, with their powerful advantages, in increasing blog traffic and tracking visitors.

What are WordPress plug-ins?

They are simply scripts created by various programmers to add more options to the powerful blogging platform called WordPress.

A WordPress plug-in may allow the displaying of recent comments or prevent spam. Many WordPress plug-ins are free or are relatively inexpensive; you can think of them as a convenient source of low-cost programming!

WordPress and its plug-ins are also great equalizers, giving both Mac and PC users equal power in creating state-of-the-art blogs. WordPress and its plug-ins run directly on the server and don’t care what kind of operating system the blogger may be using.

Blogging is no longer merely about sharing personal stories; many bloggers use the platform for marketing and promotional purposes. With their own domain, WordPress users can include AdSense ads on their blogs, as well as promote affiliate products. A wide array of WordPress plug-ins are available for customizing one’s blog, including:

* AdSense Integration
* Rotating Ads
* Search Engine Optimization Plug-ins (SEO)
* Password and User Restrictions
* Usage Data and Visitor Statistics
* Search Tools
* Tracking Capabilities
* Spam detection and deletion
* Social Bookmarking Badges (Digg, Google Bookmarks, StumbleUpon) Add a Facebook button.

Where can you find WordPress Plug-ins?

You will find plenty of recommendations in your email and online, but the official and definitive repository is at http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins. Don’t go hog wild in installing plug-ins; instead, install one at a time and get to know the features of each before installing more.

Various levels of expertise and technical proficiency may be required to use the large variety of available WordPress plug-ins. Some may require a knowledge of FTP and HTML. Others literally install themselves, thanks to the built in features of the WordPress architecture. If you want to get more advanced, you could even develop your own plug-ins. This will require a knowledge of PHP programming or possibly some use of Javascript or CHMOD.

WordPress plug-ins can vary greatly in power and flexibility, so be sure to take the time to learn what they can do for you.

You might get the impression that the Mac is the forgotten stepchild of the Internet marketing industry. But did you know that some of the top names in Internet Marketing use Macs? Visit http://internetmacmarketing.com and get a FREE 75-page ebook that covers everything you need to know about running your Internet business using a Mac, iPhone and iPad/

Please feel free to comment below and let us know what WordPress Plug-ins you use?

Last week I purchased George Brown’s Google Sniper product. I bought it to review and did not think that I could really learn anything from it as I am already making a full-time income online. George, once again, proved me wrong.

Once you pay for Google Sniper you are taken to a membership website where you will see an amazing amount of content. I was absolutely shocked at the quality of the content! There is no fluff there. In the first hour I must have found out about 5 GOLDEN NUGGETS that I did not even know about! They were also facts and things I should have known about if I had been trained correctly in the first place.

Google Sniper is geared towards affiliate marketing and I am a serious beginner in this field. I make money from Google Adsense but have recently started on affiliate marketing. (I am doing very well too).

Benefits to buying Google Sniper for people like me?

There is so much interesting content in this program that you can skip the beginners section on how to build websites and go straight to the action. This is what I did and I still felt as though I got a priceless product! George is so honest and just gives you the straight truth about everything.

Benefits to buying Google Sniper for a beginner WordPress website builder?

I definitely recommend this product for a beginner. If only I had found George two years ago! You would not believe how this course is set out. It is in such a fantastic, logical order. This factor alone makes it easy to learn and understand what is going on. Also, when you listen to George speak he is very clear and is not missing anything.

What I love about Google Sniper?

You can download any video or tutorial. This includes step by step manuals and freebies.

He just tells you everything you need to know and it’s all very easy to understand.

He mentions all of the things that I do to get 10,000 unique visitors a day.

He mentions how to make conversions when you have the traffic coming in the door. This is a big problem for many people.

George shows how to find a niche in detail, not getting too technical. In my experience you do not need to get technical.

George shows what products convert on Clickbank.

It even shows you how to ramp the whole system up and make loads of websites.

It shows how to outsource and deal with a Google sniper Empire.

Watch this video I made about inside the Google Sniper membership area.

You can also watch this video on Youtube = Google Sniper 2.0

IFRAME Embed for Youtube

I had to bug George’s product because I just had to know what was in it. Now that I have access I am amazed at how organized the information is and how easy it is to understand. Thanks George, Google Sniper rocks!

This is one of my best kept secrets about building a WordPress website, creating a free mind map for all the steps involved. I cannot tell you how helpful these maps are and how they keep you on track with your daily tasks.

Here is an example of a mind map I made showing the steps to building a WordPress website. Unfortunately I do not think this map will ever be finished because this process changes all the time. You might have to promote a website in a different way or maybe one day you will not even need to get back links. Either way you will need to be flexible and move with the times.

I made this mind map with a free program called Free Mind. You can download it and make your own mind maps for building websites or any steps to achieve absolutely anything.

<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1316" title="Building a Website" src="http://letsbuildwebsites.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Building-a-Website-300x201.png" alt="building a WordPress website"width="300" height="201" />

Download my building a website mind map

When you have made your mind map you can export the content to PDF, JPEG, PNG, and more. I exported my mind map as a JPEG and inserted that file into a Word document. I did this so I could add my own writing along with the mind map, then I saved it as a PDF.

Exporting your free mind map to PDF or JPEG file format:

See the screen shot below.

Go to the file menu at the top.

Choose Export from the menu.

Choose what file format you want to export to.

When building a WordPress website what mind maps might help?

Steps to building a WordPress website as I have above.

An entire linkbuilding mind map.

A mind map of tasks to do for the month.

A blog commenting strategy mind map.

What do you think about using a mind map when building WordPress websites?

#2. Hosting.

To really make a website or blog that makes money that is a solid and true business you need to buy web hosting. I definitely do not recommend that you start a serious business using free web hosting. You are not in full control of your website if you use free hosting.

Website hosting is so cheap! You can get Unlimited Domain Hosting Only $9.95 a Month.<img src="http://www.ftjcfx.com/image-3743744-10408505" alt="Website Success"width="1" height="1" border="0" /> Therefore you buy your web hosting and use this for all your websites. I personally use Hostgator and in the beginning I signed up for the cheapest plan for only one website to see how I would go. Later I upgraded to an unlimited plan so I could have more websites. What a cheap business? Imagine paying $10 a month to rent space for ten shops? Isn’t that crazy?

I always go for reliability, support, and up time when it comes to choosing a web hosting company. I also make sure they use cpanel hosting as it makes everything easy for you.

#3. A Domain Name.

You need to buy a domain name to suit your niche and I like to use the keywords in the name. I also prefer it to be a .com name. If you look at my domain name above, as you can see, I have even added a dash so that I could get the words that I needed. There are so many places to buy domain names. I use Namecheap.com and sometimes www.GoDaddy.com<img src="http://www.ftjcfx.com/image-3743744-10378406" alt="Website Success"width="1" height="1" border="0" />.

#4. WordPress.

Ahh what can I say about WordPress. If you are not using it you have a problem. It is the best content management system there is and it is free. Google loves WordPress and you can install it within two minutes using cpanel web hosting. Why go for the complicated content management systems when you can just get on with building your website.

#5. WordPress Theme.

It is not entirely necessary to buy to a WordPress theme because when you are first starting out there is no harm in using a free WordPress Theme. There is one problem though, free themes do not come with support and therefor customizing and tweaking your theme takes a lot longer. I did not learn how valuable a paid theme was until I was n my second year of building websites. I now use the Socrates for most of my websites as I get the best support which saves my precious time, and Socrates provides the best stability. If I had known the how important these benefits were when I started out, I never would have messed around with free WordPress themes.

Socrates allows me to swap my website layout around in matter of seconds, and customize everything at the click of a button.

#6. Wordrpess plugins create guaranteed website success!

#7. Using your mind as a tool?

Yes that’s right. Your mind is a powerful tool that I believe will lead you down the path it chooses. Now if you want to have a say in which path you take you better start taking charge of your mind and steering it in the right direction. See Who do you need to be to become a successful blogger?

#8. Outsourcing work

Getting other experienced people to do work for you is a great way to fast track your website success. This is a great tool but it is not easy to master. People make it sound easy. You just hire someone from Elance or Odesk and when the jobs done you pay them. Unfortunately the process is not always that rosy and it can become a huge headache and time waster. When you hire someone new you never really know if they are indeed experienced or can do the job to your standards. This is why I recommend you start with small paying jobs and find reliable workers that you can call on again to get the job done.

#9. Using other websites as a tool for website success?

Other websites are very important on the path to website success. You might be using them for educational purposes or even link building SEO purposes. For example I use the Warrior Forum for educational purposes and I use Ezine articles for link building purposes. Youtube is another great website to learn how to do anything you are interested in. See more webmasters resources.Fish

Tools That Create Guaranteed Website Success

As I have stated, there are no secrets here, however these tools might be secrets to you if you do not realize the value of them. I personally wish that someone had just told me these simple facts when I first started building websites. I always saw the newest thing and thought that I needed this to make my business work. Even the educational courses are tempting but not always the necessary thing to get your business going.

I really hope you can learn from my mistakes and only pay for the tools that create guaranteed website success.
