This is one of the biggest questions that every new Clickbank affiliate wants to ask, “When will I get my first payout from Clickbank?” You have been gathering up sales one by one and now you’re wondering when you are going to get a payout. This is a valid query that any normal Webmaster or affiliate would be asking. It is exciting to watch the sales come in and you cannot wait to get the money your hands. This is how I felt when I first started.

Unfortunately my excitement was deflated when I saw Clickbank’s accounting policy. Well it wasn’t that bad, I might be over exaggerating a bit. The point is that there are condition to fulfill before getting your first payout from Clickbank. These milestones are clearly listed in click banks accounting policy.

When will I get my first payout from Clickbank?

Getting your first payout from Clickbank it is not as easy as getting a payout from other affiliate websites. However Clickbank is the most popular affiliate website to use and therefore many affiliates will endure the time it takes to wait for their first payout from Clickbank.

What do you have to do to get your first payout from Clickbank?

• You need to make sales from five different credit card numbers. This does not include sales from PayPal.
• You need to make sales from two different payment methods. These could be PayPal,Visa, MasterCard, or some type of other credit card.

Therefore putting it bluntly, you have to make five sales using five different credit card numbers. You also have to make two of those sales using different payment methods. This is not an easy task as I have had accounts holding at least $500 worth of payments before even getting a first payout from Clickbank.

What Happens if you do not make any sales?

If you open a Clickbank account and it exists without making sales you will be charged a fee to keep the account open. Dormant accounts are charged one dollar per pay period after 90 days of inactivity or five dollars per period after 180 days of inactivity. Even worse it increases to $50 per pay period after 360 days of no sales. Therefore once you open a Clickbank account you need to generate sales to avoid these fees. Also if you would like to get your first payout from clickbank you will need to generate sales and follow the criteria. This means you will have to get sales from five different credit card numbers and two different payment options.

This requirement is in place to help prevent Affiliates from abusing the ClickBank Affiliate program by using their accounts for the sole purpose of fraudulently collecting rebates and/or discounts on their own purchases.

Therefore if I do not make sales for 60 days and then make a sale the account will be back to the beginning, and not be considered dormant.

• Be careful when opening Clickbank accounts because it can cost you money if you do not produce sales on each account.
• Clickbank has these policies in place to prevent fraudulent buying and promotion of your own account. This safeguards the real Clickbank affiliates.
• New affiliates should stick to opening one Clickbank account only.
• This policy also applies for a Clickbank Vendor.

When you sign up to Clickbank and become an affiliate, in order to promote a product you will need to get a hoplink. Yes it sounds a bit silly but that’s what it is called. It’s really quite simple. If you find a product you want to promote on Clickbank you have to grab the hoplink, which is the link with your affiliate name in it. Therefore if someone clicks on this hoplink and buys the product, you will get an agreed commission amount.

How to create a Hoplink in Clickbank?

1.  Sign into your Clickbank account.

2.  Click on the marketplace link in the top menu. See the screen shot below.

3.  Now you have two options here..To search in the search bar or browse the categories in the far left column.

4.  Once you have found a product you like (see tips at the end of post) click on promote. See the screen shot below.

5.  Another window will open. Type in your account nickname.

6.  You can also type in a tracking id. This could be anything that reminds you what the link is because it will be hard to tell later.

7.  Press on the create button.

8.  See the screen shot below, the arrows are pointing to the hoplink. You need to copy this link.

9.  It should look something link this http://283eca26un7o9u2ushlqcd0nf5.hop.clickbank.net/ You can use this link on your website.

1. The more gravity a products has the more popular it is.
2. Average $/sale is what you will get if someone buys the product.
3. Average re-bill total means that there is a reoccurring payment like a membership website.

The new way to get hoplink is to signin to Clickbank and go to the promote tab. Then search by categories or in the search bar at the top…I like the old way though. You could pick different features like the most popular and standard billing etc. This new system even confused me for a second, but I am sure I will get used to it.

When you are finding hoplinks to promote it is better to choose products that have recurring income. That way you can possibly still make money even after your website no longer exists as the money will keep rolling in.

You can still go to Clickbank and find a product that you want to sell and then create a hoplink.
