Amongst the thousands of different methods we can use to generate website hits, there are always some often forgotten website traffic tips that should definitely be remembered. I have been thinking about ways to gain website traffic for years now and it has become an automatic routine for me. This post can be used as a simple reminder for both me and you.

This is only scratching the surface as I am sure there will be many more forgotten website traffic tips.

#1.  Be consistent with great content

I know that providing great content on a consistent basis is an extremely hard job but it is extremely necessary in order to succeed.  Killer content is the be all and end all of blogging. You either have it or you don’t. Let’s just say that if you have great content this will generate traffic on autopilot. If you build it, they will come.

#2.  Don’t be agreeable

Be an individual and people will be drawn to you. Do not just be one of the sheep that just says and does things to please people. This is simply boring and its getting old. Even on the internet people can see straight through this act.

#3.  Write killer post titles

Your post titles are very important…Think about it.. What is the first thing that people see? Even when you leave a comment on a blog and include a Commentluv link the blog title is left there to temp a click.

#4.  Set Goals for traffic – Website traffic tips

Commit yourself to traffic generation tasks on a regular basis and stick to it! I have a daily task sheet that helps me stay on track.

#5.  Publish as often as possible

If you publish 2 posts a week and another blog posts 5, who do you think will get more traffic? From my experience it is the blog that publishes more posts. Of course there is the other side of the coin when the posts just flow through too quick. That is no good for anyone. I always try to avoid guest posting on blogs that let their posts run through too fast. This reduces the traffic for each post.

#6.  Make your blog hip and groovy

Make your blog the place to go for all the great information. Work your butt off to get the golden nuggets and share them with your audience. That will get them talking and there is nothing better than “word of mouth”. Choose effective keywords you can use for your content and rack your brains for unique ideas that will give you the WOW factor!

#7.  Start a rumor

I wouldn’t do this one but I notice that some serial attention seekers use this more than they should. Gossip is interesting to the masses and often they like to see for themselves by visiting your blog. What controversial rumor can you come up with?

#8.  Get some big names to comment

Comments on your blog stick around forever. Imagine if you had Darren Rowse or Yaro Starak to comment on your blog. People would return because they think you are popular.

#9.  Make yourself look popular

This one works well. Win contests, guest post, and just get seen. Have you noticed that I am everywhere you go? Well not everywhere but I am in many places? Hmm now you know my secret I will have to kill you..

#10.  Perfect your comments

Many people are wasting their time commenting because they actually say nothing at all. Share your real opinion and create some controversy as this will spark some interest. It is also good to use your own name as you would have a better chance of getting your comment approved. (hint hint)

In the beginning all newbies act like spammers because they do not know how to comment.

#11.  Network outside your circles

Webmasters often stick within their circles, commenting on the same blogs, guest posting in the same areas, and even linking within this network. Expanding to different neighborhoods can bring you new targeted visitors that you probably would not find if you just stayed in your circle. Get out and mingle outside your comfort zone.

#12.  Follow my 5 – 1 rule

Every time you publish a new blog post, promote your blog 5 times. Talk about your post, link back to your post, guest post about your post.. The 5 to 1 rule will be a magic traffic wand.

#13.  Venture offline

Contact your local radio station and share your expertise. Ask the local newspaper if they would like a regular article. If not then send your views into “letters to the editor” or sections like that..

Also offer to give a free class on your chosen subject at the local community hall. You will be amazed at the response you receive.

#14.  Giveaway viral gifts

We all know this one. Create a product and give it away as a viral marketing campaign.. But why not give the viral product away to new webmasters who have nothing to give away? Sure they do not have that many subscribers but it all adds up..

#15.  Use references

If possible link out to other blogs that can enhance your blog post. It is also nice to mention where you get an idea from or who you are quoting. This can get you website visitors, backlinks when the webmaster returns the favor, or even trackbacks.

#16.  Design a 125×125 ad

Hey you can afford $35 a month can’t you? That’s like one affiliate sale! This is how much the average 125×125 ad can cost. Of course the prices vary according to the popularity of the blog, but most people don’t do this.. Ads are not just for affiliates and Adsense.

You can make a groovy ad for your own blog.

#17.  Reply to your comments

This can become almost impossible but it just has to be done. I am swamped with comments on four websites and I really have to weigh up my priorities, however answering comments is a great traffic generation method..Think about it..

I have the replyme plugin installed so when I reply to people they get an email letting them know… This in turn brings them back to possibly comment again. This is a lot like sending an email to your list and getting return traffic..

#18.  SEO on old posts

Performing Search engine optimization on old posts can bring you loads of traffic. Imagine if you left the post there getting old and useless. No one would want to read it. If you update and SEO an old post you can grab more traffic, probably website traffic that was yours to grab anyway. Here is a video on how I do SEO on an old post. #19.  Post a mix up of your best posts

Bringing your old posts to the frontline can remind people of the goodies that your blog is hiding. Maybe you have some golden content stashed in your archives that might be shared and linked to..You might think it is old but others might appreciate it.

#20.  Teach the basics

I see a lot of webmasters teaching difficult and hard to understand tutorials. This is great but what a about the basics?

Webmasters that have been around too long in their chosen profession forget the basics and can’t explain them any longer.. It’s like talking to a computer tech who speaks tech language.

There is a big demand for knowledge and it is mostly about getting a basic education.

Every blogger I know is trying to implement viral marketing strategies but unfortunately it does not always work. Here are some viral marketing strategies I like to use.

#1.  Free giveaway lead magnet

All free giveaways must lead to somewhere and if it does it will need a call to action. Therefore in a video you need to ask people to click on a link to your website or tell them what to do. In a free PDF you will need to include links and also tell people what to do. The main problem people encounter with free giveaways is uploading a PDF to a server and getting the HTML link right.

Characteristics of a free report:

• great information
• presented nicely
• easy to navigate
• links to your website
• affiliate links
• your website branding (URL)

Characteristics of a free video:

• mouth watering information
• teasing with the promise of more information
• call to action
• link to goal

#2.  Plan your Viral Marketing Strategies

What is the goal of your free report? Is it to make money online with affiliate sales or is it to get people back to your website? Whatever it is you must map out a plan of where your visitors are expected to travel and also why they are expected to go down this path. It is essentially a funnel to squeeze your visitors through. It is not always a sales funnel, or an obvious one, but if done right, everything leads to a sale in the end.

#3. Share a real secret

By now the Internet has experienced a major case of information overload and to make your special report special, you will need to share a secret or new tip that no one else has heard of. It could even be an experience that you have had or even a great idea that you have come up with yourself. If you can not think of anything you can do extensive research for your product, mention as many tips as you can, and hopefully the reader will learn something new out of thathen you become experienced in your niche, coming up with new concepts and ideas will not be a problem for you.

You can no longer get away with boring regurgitated information as most of us have seen it all by now.

#4.  Give value

Even if you are new to the Internet marketing game, you would have received someone’s free giveaway report. When the free giveaway is simply a piece of junk it is a disappointment and it makes the website visitor angry. In fact if you have tempted them with the free report after signing up to your list, they may unsubscribe as soon as possible if you give them a worthless report.

#5.  A free giveaway in the free giveaway

This is something that most Webmasters neglect to do when implementing viral marketing strategies. They give away a report or a free video and do not lead the visitors anywhere else after that. Giving them another gift to tempt them along is a great way to impress them. It sets your trust in stone. Well that might be a bit overboard but it can only do good things.

What if the person accepted your first giveaway and was not so impressed by it, however they were still curious to see the next freebie you had already promised. This means you have a second chance before losing this person forever. You can either make them aware that they will receive something else or use an exit pop to stop them from leaving your page.

#6.  Put social media buttons into your report

You can either gather new friends to follow you or even tweet about your free giveaway. Think about it? What is stopping you from putting a link to your Facebook page, your Youtube video channel, or anything else you choose to. It not like adding Social media buttons to your website but it is still relatively easy.

It is not hard to make a free giveaway PDF file look professional. You can simply start I making a word document and formatting it with headings, subtitles, and the occasional picture or screenshot. After you have created your fantastic looking Microsoft word document you simply have to now save it as a PDF file. Do not get too fancy because it is the information that really counts in the end.

#8.  Distribute your giveaway

Get off your bum and get your viral marketing strategies into gear and give away your free report. Do not just sit there and wait for people to sign up to your list. There are so many other ways to get your free product out there!

• send it to your e-mail list
• blog about it
• social sharing
• submit to Amazon Kindle (sell as cheap as possible)
• guest post about it. Here is a guest blogging ebook to help you out.
• get interviewed about it
• upload it to document sharing websites
• add the giveaway to your forum signature
• give it away to other Webmasters to give away (especially if they do not have their own giveaway)

#9.  Link build to your giveaway landing page

People often make a landing page for a free giveaway and only link within their own blog. I have given you some ideas above but I also like to put a video on Youtube and link back to the free giveaway. I also like to mention the free giveaway in the video and make a call to action. You could even make a video mini-series which all lead to your giveaway landing page.

#10. A slow viral marketing campaign is boring!

Don’t take your time releasing a viral marketing campaign as it is best to start doing this strategy straight from the start. Creating a viral marketing campaign is definitely a great strategy to generate traffic and sales are you new business. Why wait? Hit the market hard and fast and shock people with the quality of your content.

People often try these viral marketing strategies to generate traffic, however some fail to complete some important steps. Simple things like neglecting to have a plan or goal for your free giveaway is a showstopper from the beginning. The free giveaway is not just a free giveaway, it is a complete system. The system must guide your website visitor through each step and end up at the goal that you were aiming for. Otherwise what is the purpose for the freebie?

What can a viral marketing strategies like a free eBook do for your website?

Giving away a free PDF report can generate traffic for years to come if done correctly. I have had PDF’s floating around the internet for years and I still make sales from products mentioned in them and still also get website traffic. Webmasters often think that using article spinning software to do article marketing is not an honest way to run your business and get website traffic. I disagree. I find article spinning software very valuable and it is up to you how you use it. If you submit quality articles in your article marketing efforts, then you will be rewarded with SEO back links and possibly some traffic.

I have been testing article spinning software for over a year now. At first I was highly skeptical and did not believe that it could do anything for me. Now I am going to share my results with you and let you know why I think it is useful to use article spinning software when building your WordPress website’s.

What is article spinning software?

Article spinning software is when you can start with one original article and end up transforming it into hundreds of unique looking articles. For example, you can change and spin individual words or entire sentences.

Here is an example of article spinning:

{There|In this day and age there|Now days there|Everyone knows that there} {is nothing|is absolutely nothing} more {frustrating|irritating|aggravating|annoying} than {getting a virus in your computer system|finding out your computer has downloaded a virus|finding a virus on your computer|watching a virus eat away at your computer}. After the article spinning software chooses each different possibility you can end up with hundreds of articles about the same subject.

The next thing that this software often does, is to submit these unique articles to various different article marketing websites. Can you imagine how much time this can save you.

Submitting articles after spinning

Over the past year I have been testing magic article submitter and magic article re-writer. I added my original article into the re-writer, spun the article, and then placed it into the Magic article submitter so it could submit to various websites for me.

In this one-year, I submitted 16 articles in total, which turned into 271 published articles and 340 waiting for review. I could not have possibly managed to do this myself. Therefore 16 articles turned into 271 articles. I can also go back and resubmit these article and get more submissions but I am happy with that.

When submitting articles I did so for various niches. I experimented with SEO keywords and I believe that my experiments paid off.

Although I do not believe that I received any actual direct traffic from any of these articles, however I did get ranked on page 1 of Google for any of the words that I used as anchor text in the articles. I was amazed to see that a website that I had totally neglected ranks for all sorts of keywords that I aimed for.

Here is a screen shot of one of our websites I decided to experiment with. As you can see it ranks on the page 1 of Google for the term “save money”. It also does the same thing for “saving money”, “saving money tips”, and so on. This is a website that does not get much traffic but has managed to get on the page 1 of Google for all these terms.

I did not do any other link building for this website, not even one thing.

Do not get excited and run over there to visit the website because I really class this as junk as I have neglected it and had no time for it. I only do enough work on it for it to stay in existence for when I am ready to concentrate on it.

How can article spinning software help my article marketing for my website?

In my experiments I have proved that you can get ranked on the page 1 of Google. If you target certain keywords, you will end up owning them. The next step in my experiments is to gain traffic from these article submissions. This is why I am now switching software and trying to target the high traffic article submission websites.

Magic article submitter and rewriter

This is the software that I used to perform these tests. Magic article submitter and magic article re-writer are simple to setup and have proved to work. This means that you can spin your article using the spinning software, and then have it automatically submitted to hundreds of article directory websites. The one drawback of this software was that it did not submit to the top article websites.

Article marketing robot

The thing I like about article marketing robot is that you can download the software to try for free for five days. When you do this I suggest that you check it out thoroughly and see how you go. This software lets you control where you submit your articles to and how many you submit. It also spins it for you or you can spin it yourself.

I am actually using the trial of this program right now and the thing that I like about it is that it will submit to an Articlebase and Ezinearticles and it will also let you submit to your own WordPress website’s.

You can view some how to videos and then download the try all for five days before you even think about buying it.

Article submit auto

This is the only article submitter that says it will submit to top 30 authority article directories. This includes Ezine articles. it is based on a WordPress platform So most people would already know how to use it. unfortunately I did not investigate this program any further because it involves a regular monthly fee and I prefer to make a one off payments and own the software. Of course you can join and try it out and then quit after the first month. If you can afford a monthly payment article submit auto is meant to be a great tool.

UAW (Unique Article Wizard)

This is more of a system to follow that costs $67 a month to join. I am a member as of Dec 2011 and I will be showing my results on this blog. This is not black hat, it is just article marketing with a little help. They are very strict about the articles accepted and this Unique Article Wizard seems to be a bit more sophisticated compared to other programs. You can even submit your YouTube videos with your articles.

I know how to make money and the funny thing is I am doing this by using article marketing. It is a full time job alone and I am trying to make this a bit easier by employing some help.

What now?

I sat back for a long time thinking that using article spinning software would make me a spammer, however it has done nothing of the sort. The only thing that I was not happy about with my article spinning software, was that it did not submit to the top article websites. This is why I have moved on to article marketing robot.

This means researching your keywords, writing great titles, keyword rich descriptions, and appropriate tags. Performing SEO on your Youtube video is extremely important and is often neglected when learning how to get views on Youtube videos. You must concentrate on a keyword and mention it, along with related words, in all sections.

#2.  Choose the right category

When learning how to get views on Youtube people often neglect the categories they place their videos in. If you have put your video into a category that does not fit you are killing its chances of getting found. What if someone wants to see a comedy video and you have posted a computer tutorial in that category. How many views do you think that video would get?

#3. Link each video to another

This is called annotation on Youtube. You can add an annotation to your video which can link to another related video. Keep them viewing videos on your channel and clock up your Youtube views. Why not keep it in the family..

• Write an article and publish it on Ezinearticles with a link pointing to the video. This is usually “dofollow“.
• You can also leave a link to your video as an answer on Yahoo answers.
• Leave your video on other peoples Youtube channel as a video response.

#6. Research

Visit Youtube insights for each video and study where people are coming from, which keyword attracts them, and what videos perform the best. Tailor to your videos to what your audience is asking for. You can also research what others are doing and why their videos are successful while yours are not. You will soon see how to get views on Youtube by mimicking others actions. If they can do it, why can’t you?

#7.  Encourage embedding

Contact other webmasters and offer your videos as website content for them. This benefits you by:

• Free advertising for your Youtube video channel.
• Linking directly back to your video if a viewer presses on the Youtube link on the video.
• If you are a Youtube partner your advertising will show on the bottom of the videos.

#8.  Create Playlists

Playlists group together similar videos so if people are interested they might go from one to the next in order to get the information they desire. Playlists are also great for targeting keywords. For example I have a bunch of videos about Windows seven, so I grouped them together and named the playlist “Windows seven tips”. Now when you search for Windows seven tips in Youtube my playlist comes up on the first page.

How to encourage website traffic from a Youtube video?

#1.  Link to your website:

When writing your Youtube video description put your URL to your website first so the link will be directly under the video. This works because I get tones of visitors to my website everyday. Make sure you write the full URL correctly.

#2.  Ask for them to visit your website:

In your video tell your viewers to click on the link under the video. This is a call to action. Put the idea in their heads and tell them what to expect when they get there. If you do not ask you will not receive.

#3.  Offer a free gift at your website:

If you offer a free gift and tell them that if they click on the link to your website they will get it, no ties, they will come. This is free exposure and these visitors are highly targeted to your subject as they have already shown interest by watching a video. Make sure the content you give away is related to the video that they have just watched.

#4.  Offer more valuable information at your website:

Offer them the rest of the story at your website or maybe some more valuable information. I usually talk about a free program and tell them to go to my website to download it. They could just simply Google it and get it straight from the source but they do not because I told them where to get it.

You put all your blood , sweat, and tears in to writing a pillar article and now you concentrate on generating traffic for each new article. You cannot just hope that your loyal readers stumble upon your content, you need to push it right in their faces.

Why do most bloggers and webmasters sit back and think that the job is done when they have published a new article on their blog. This is only half the job.

My clear philosophy is to promote each and every article individually, not always concentrating on just the homepage of my website. I am thinking that if people see a title that interests them, they might visit my website. If they just saw a website URL or blog name it might not be so interesting.

The following list consists of some simple tasks I do each time a new article is posted onto my WordPress website. It is not rocket science, but trust me, it does work! I have websites that are climbing towards 10,000 unique visitors a day and I have realized that it is all about great content and getting people to see it.

Onpage SEO

Do not forget on-page SEO!!! I am telling you that this is what the experts use so why can’t you? On-page SEO involves having the right density of keywords throughout the article, a H1, H2, H3 tag with keywords in it, bolded keywords, and so on. If done correctly it makes your article into an unbeatable asset. I use SeoPressor to help me get my on-page SEO perfect. Here is my SEO checklist that might help new webmasters.

When I started my first website I blundered through and slapped up articles hoping they would become pillar posts that would attract many readers. This was a rare occurrence because I was not forming the posts correctly. Later I went back and optimized my articles on this website with SEOPressor and the traffic has grown to 10,000 uniques a day! I am still using this in Dec 2011.

To make this work you need valuable content that is written for your visitors with SEO applied. Without SEO your post will not be as great as it could be.

Generating traffic for each new article using Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking from your side is when you do a post and bookmark it. Of course we do not want to be bookmarking all of our own posts so I usually bookmark my Youtube videos and articles I submit.

Social bookmarking from your readers is letting them have the ability to share your content through their profiles and accounts. this is pretty simple and is just a matter of adding a few social media buttons to your website. Generating traffic from the Commentluv plugin

Just say your latest post is really juicy and its about how you made great money with Adsense. For example, here is one of my articles  How Did I Increase Adsense Earnings By 500%

1.  The first thing you need to do when generating traffic is to make sure you have actually signed up for Commentluv at Andy Bailey’s website. This way when you comment you get to choose from your latest 10 posts and not just your latest.

2.  Now that you have posted an article about Increasing Adsense earnings you must think to yourself, “Where are the people that are interested in earning from Adsense? What are they reading?

My answer to this question is:

• Anyone interested in making money online.
• Anyone interested in Improving Adsense income.
• Anyone not earning good money from their blog.
• And so on…

So the subjects I would be looking for are:

• Making money online
• Adsense earnings. Optimizing Adsense.
• Blogging

3.  Now we need to find blogs to comment on that have Commentluv installed. I have written a few posts on how to find high Page rank Commentluv blogs and How to search in Google for “dofollow” related blogs to comment on?

4.  You must find the blogs that have the readers that will want to visit your new article. Do not waste your time leaving comments on unrelated websites. (not in your working time)

Upload a video to Youtube

You can create a video about the subject of your article and upload it to Youtube and link back to the article in the video description.  There are a few ways to do this. You can use the free program Camstudio to record a screen cast or you can make power point slides into a video. Either way it is a great way to get a backlink to your new article. You can also embed the video into the article itself. You can also ping and bookmark the page where the video is.

Submit it to an article directory

You cannot submit the exact article but you can easily rewrite it and submit it to Ezine articles. (still going strong even after all the Panda rumors) Add a link to your website in the authors bio and use the right anchor text to point to the original article. Ezine article no longer accepts articles you have posted on your website already and the publishing criteria is strict but definitely worth it. They will not pass articles that simply exactly the same information, so make sure you introduce some new points. Generating traffic from submitting articles is an old and trusted method. Don’t blow it off as useless!

Automatic pinging

This is one of the basics to laying the right foundation for your WordPress websites. You must set pinging up and control it when you start your website. Here is an article about Using Maxblogpress to control pinging. You do not want your blog pinging when you update your posts, only when you publish them.

Of course we are lucking with WordPress as it has a RSS feed built into its system. All you have to do is go and add this feed URL to various RSS websites. Therefore when you have a new post, these websites will be informed.

Generating traffic by sending updates to your list

Again if you have laid the foundations to your WordPress Website you would have an option for visitors to sign up for your newsletter. Each time you make a great post on your website, send them an email letting them know. Tell them why the post is important and how it will benefit them to read it. Make sure you personally write this as I have not had much success with auto RSS emails. People like a personal touch, no matter how small it is.

Add it to a collection to form a PDF

This is valuable content and after it has been around for about 6 months it is time to reuse it for your new visitors that might not get to see it. Package all your best posts into a Word document, make it look pretty, and save it as a PDF file. Make sure you include links back to your website and affiliate links. Now give it away and distribute it, hopefully turning it into our viral marketing report. If done correctly, it should start generating traffic over and over to your precious posts. .

Of course I go on about guest posting all of the time! I have written articles on how to choose websites to guest post on, how guest posting can bring your blog down, and so on. I have also seen fantastic results with both traffic and conversions solely from guest posting. I notice that a lot of people are sitting back and saying that they will get around to doing guest posting. Stop saying you are going to do it, and just do it! Stop being a “Guna”.

What we have really done here is create links to the new article. These links might be clicked on by real people or be used by bots to find your article and index it quicker. Either way you win.

I know this probably sounds like a lot of work however why not promote your content right in the first place? Having a website simply means, without any argument, that you have to become involved in social networking. Of course we all want to do everything we can to get traffic to our WordPress websites, and installing a few tiny buttons can really help.

The most popular social networks you can get involved with are Facebook and Twitter. These are gods in the world of social networking.

Why do you need a share button on your WordPress website?

You definitely, without question, need to give your visitors the opportunity to share your content. Hey it doesn’t cost you anything! All they have to do is press on a simple share button to show appreciation for your post. How easy is that? It doesn’t cost them anything but a few seconds of their time.

Why would you miss out on this opportunity? You would have to have rocks in your head. Once they press on a button, a Facebook button for example, the url to your post will be published on their Facebook account. All their friends will see it and if they comment or like the link it will then be on their Facebook account page.

How many social networks should you display?

I have displayed all the social network icons and have found that you only need the ones that apply to you. I have built reasonably large profiles on Facebook and Twitter and that is why I choose to use these buttons for my visitors to share my content. However if I have built a profile on DIG or Stumbleupon I would include these buttons also. You need to show your popularity any way you can. This is why I use a counter with my buttons so people can see how many others have shared my content.

I have tried a few WordPress plugins to help me display the social networking buttons I need for my website, and for each website it might require a different plugin. they all do a great job, however sometimes they are not exactly what I need and I have to install the buttons manually.

Is it better to install these share and follow buttons manually?

Once you have figured out what social media buttons you need it is easy to get the HTML code to embed the buttons into your website. Plugins do great things but adding the code into your website is also sometimes necessary.  When installing button code manually you do not have to worry if a plugin is not compatible and you do not have to update the code. The unfortunate thing is that although the code is easy to dump into the code of your website, it is not always easy to line it all up. Trying to get different icons and buttons to line up can become a nightmare for the newbie. This is where the plugin is useful.

Hands up who wants to rank number one on Google search for your chosen keywords? Oh only two people… I said “who wants to have their WordPress website on the first page of Google for their keywords?” Oh everyone does. Ok, now we are getting somewhere.

I have many strategies that I use to dominate the first page of Google and one of my all time favorites is using a Youtube Video. I can see you are pulling faces now. Can you stop detracting me? We all need to start taking Youtube a bit more serious. When most people think of Youtube a funny video comes to mind, or a funny blooper. Remove that thought from your mind and think of Youtube as a traffic source and a big pat on the back for your website. And when you get that big pat on the back from your Youtube video it will take your website closer to the top of Google for your keywords.

How does using Youtube video help a website rank in Google?

If you make a Youtube video using the keywords for your website in the title, that Youtube video sometimes has a better chance of ranking higher than your actual website does. You’ve most likely seen it. When you search for something, anything  basically, there are the typical results showing. A few top websites, a Youtube video, maybe an Ezine article, and then a few more websites. Has anyone else noticed this. It’s not always like that but you get the idea. Some Google search results might show a Squidoo lense or a Wikipedia page but Youtube is always close by.

Tips for using a Youtube video to improve your WordPress website rankings in Google:

1. Go to Youtube and type your websites keywords into the search bar there. Find your competition.
2. See what your competition is NOT doing and do that. Think about what you can do better than them.
3. Examine how a competition video has got so many views. Study their SEO techniques such as keywords in the title, tags for the video, and words in the description.
4. Submit an article to Ezine articles that is focused on the same keywords and that links to your Youtube video URL. Youtube will love that you are link building to their website.
5. Make more than one video using different variations of the video title. This way you will have a better chance of finding the right combination of keywords.
6. Social bookmark your video. Share it around on Twitter and Facebook.

So your Youtube video ranks well in Google, what about my website?

Under each Youtube video you upload be sure to have a link to your website in the description of your video. It has to be the first text you put into your Youtube video description. This link will bring you traffic to your website, but it will also show Google that the keywords of this popular video is related to your website. Everything you do should end up at your website. So the Ezine article you posted earlier with a link to your Youtube video, which in turns points to your website can only benefit your website rankings. See the screen shot below. Facebook has become a business tool that you cannot do without when owning a website. Obviously Facebook has realised this, and has some great widgets available for you to embed to your website.
For example if you have a Facebook Fan page for your website you could embed code into your website that directly links to your Facebook Fan page. I personally use a Facebook fanbox but there are other choices available, such as badges, buttons, and more.

I was hanging around on Youtube and found this video. Usually when you see a video that has a title with the word secret in it, you know it is a scam. However this video is very interesting and gives you another cool way to use your sales page and opt in page. After all the name of the game is to build a great OPT in list for your website, and this guys method would guarantee sales as he has already figured out that the OPT in is a buyer.
