By on June 12, 2011

We all know about free Google tools to use for your WordPress website building business, however are you missing out on some of them? Software for business used to be expensive and now it seems like get anything for free, especially from Google. If you are into building WordPress websites or Internet marketing you will be very familiar with the free Google tools are available to help you in your business. I definitely am a Google lover, but do not hate me for that! Many people despise Google’s success, however I am here to use it.

I cannot possibly mention all of the free Google tools available, therefore I am just going to mention my favorite.

Free Google tools – Website tracking tools

From all the free Google tools available, I seriously love Google’s website tracking tools. The information that is provided for free is absolutely the most valuable gift that Google could give to you. Everything is clearly laid out on a platter, if you take the time to learn how to read this information.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is absolutely amazing! All you have to do is add Google analytics code to your website and the tracking begins. I use it to see what keywords an article is using to bring in traffic. I also like to see if that keyword is generating income by finding the highest paying keywords for AdSense. If I find an article that has a keyword that is doing well, I will go and focus on that keyword and do some search engine optimization on page and off page. Basically you are showed every detail about your website, what keywords are working to you, and what is bringing in the traffic.

Google Webmaster tools

Google Webmaster tools is a great resource to see if there are any errors occurring on your website that might affect the search engines crawling. You want your website to be search engine compliant as you want your information fed to the world.

Things you can see in the Google Webmaster tools:

  • You can see if you have a site map submitted to Google.
  • You can see if there are any crawl errors.
  • You can see keywords that people are using to find your website.
  • You can see how many inbound links you have to each individual page on your website.

Of course there are many other things that you can see in Google Webmaster tools, however the best way is to go investigate yourself.

Free Google tools – keyword research

Google keyword tool

What can I say about the Google keyword tool? It just keeps improving and I cannot help but use it for my keyword research. Even if I’m not creating a new website, I actually use the Google keyword tool to find the right keywords for each article that I write. This is very valuable information and it is all there for free.

I have used fancy keyword tools such as Keyword Elite and Market Samurai. Unfortunately after using these programs, I have ended up at the Google keyword tool to gain.

Things you can see in the Google keyword tool:

  • You can see if anyone is searching for the keyword you Want to target?
  • You can see if that keyword is in a competitive market.
  • You can see the approximate CPC.

Of of course you can see a whole lot more!

Free Google tools – Content publishing

Blogger.com

If you are just starting your first website, you can actually start a free blog on blogger.com and get some practice in. You can develop a real business on blogger free blog that I actually use it for search engine optimization purposes. I use Blogger to create related content blogs that link back to my main website. I do not need to ask anyone if I can publish a guest post because I have a few blogs that I can get back links from. The search engines love blogger.com so it is a great place to publish content. Here is an example of a blogger blog I have for SEO purposes about Pc Tips.

Youtube.com

I do not like talking about Youtube because I will not stop. I am a big Youtube fan and I have close to 300 videos uploaded to this website. It gives me a great amount of traffic and I guess I have built a business from it. If you are not using Youtube to upload videos and promote your website then I suggest you get on with it!

I have written many articles from finding the right Youtube video title to generating traffic from Youtube. I have also written a number of articles about how people can make a video to upload to Youtube. For example I have an article about making PowerPoint slides into a video.

Google alerts

Google alerts is another tool that I used every day to help me research the content that I want to write. All I have to do is go to Google alerts, enter a keyword in that I am interested in, and Google will send me links to websites that publish articles about the keyword I entered in. For example if I want to write a post about back linking, I would enter this into Google alerts and gather information about back linking. You can also use this to find the latest information about your favorite subject without having to search the Internet for it.

There are many other free Google tools that I would like to mention, such as Google documents, Gmail e-mail, Google insights, Google translator, and so on. The list just goes on forever so I have made a video on how you can go on see more free Google tools.

The use of efficient tools are a must for Internet marketing entrepreneurs. I find these Google tools user friendly and extremely valuable. Google Analytics in particular has helped a lot of entrepreneurs manage their day-to-day operations. This tool may be a little sophisticated but then again, very easy to use.

It is the wave of the future that most of the most valuable tools and resources are becoming free or open source. This is the reason why a company like microsoft is seeing their sales take a hit. Why buy MSoffice when you can download openoffice free and they have the same functionality?

I do not know how I could have stared and maintained my blog without the help of free Google tools. And the amazing thing is that despite the tools being free, the work much better than most paid tools.

If I had to pick one out of all the free Google tools 9which is very hard to do) I would have to go with Google keyword tool. Every blog post, gust post and article for article marketing I write, I write with the help of keyword tool. Its a huge time saver.

I am a huge fan of Google Alerts, heres a tip I can give about it that not many people know, at least I dont think so… I could be wrong though…. Anyways, If you word happens to be more than one word, for example lets say the word is Michael Jordan. The best thing to do in my opinion is put it in quotation makes, “Michael Jordan” it will make sure that the word is together, otherwise you could get alot of unrelated emails from Google Alerts depending on what your search phrase is when using Alerts. At least thats been my experience.

I only use blogger, youtube and analytics. The analytics is so complicated for me, I hope soon I can manage to learn more about it. I will try some experiments of the other google tool services like webmastertools which they said is very important for monitoring your site’s ranking on Google SERPs. And Google Keyword Tool.
