IT depends upon your host that what they offer you with your hosting, There is an option called fantasitco before and the new one is softaculous which have over 200+ scripts available with it, and you can install them on air with few clicks, and softaculous is much much better than fantastico…
I use hostgator as well – have done for well over a year now. Cheap and no problems – can’t see any reason to use anyone else.

Another vote for hostgator from me. I host a blog for my friend using hostgator, and despite the large amount of traffic, there have been zero problems over the past two years.
I have always use hostgator for my blogs and it is very easy to set up your blog using Fantasico from the cPanel. Just a few buttons to press and your blog is ready. You can find lots of tutorials around that can help you.

Lisa,
I use hostgator for my hosting. They have a good package where you can have hosting of up to 100 domains for $10/month. I really like them. They also use cpanel and fantastico, so installing wordpress is actually really easy through this function. And yes, you can import the free wordpress templates, but you need an FTP client to upload them to your server. There are free FTP programs out there, I use SmartFTP personally, but there are others.
There is more information on wordpress and how to use it at http://www.squidoo.com/legitimate-home-business
If your hosting provider provides the Fantastico application through Cpanel, it’s really easy to install. Fantastico installs various applications (one of which is wordpress) for you in just a few clicks.
Once you’ve installed wordpress you have a basic functioning web site. At this point you can easily download free (and paid) themes and plugins. THey just go into your public_htmlwp_contenttemplates or plugins folder.
I have videos of doing each of these things here: http://www.wordpressvideohowto.com
It really is quite easy… just find some good video tutorials. If you can tell me who your hosting provider I could get you exact instructions.
